Vervoe alternative: a live spoken scenario, not a task done alone
Vervoe got something right early: test the job, not the CV. Its assessments ask candidates to do realistic tasks in text, video, audio or code, and grade them with AI.
Two things have changed for smaller teams. Vervoe moved to quote-only enterprise plans, with no public prices at the time of checking. And the tasks are still completed alone. Nobody pushes back, asks a follow-up or changes the situation halfway through.
The short version
- Format: Vervoe tasks are done solo. Greet is a live voice conversation where the AI plays the other person and responds to what the candidate says.
- Price: Vervoe is quote-only. Greet is $99/month for 100 sessions, listed on the site.
- Setup: good custom Vervoe assessments take time to build. Greet drafts a session from one sentence.
What Vervoe is
Vervoe, based in Melbourne, sells role-based skills assessments. Candidates complete realistic tasks in text, video, audio or code, and AI helps grade the results. It mostly serves enterprises hiring at scale.
It does that well. The tasks are job-realistic rather than generic, candidates can answer in several formats, and the grading is explainable.
Where it falls short
From its own pricing and help pages:
- Pricing moved behind a quote. Plans are enterprise and quote-only, with no public prices or free trial at the time of checking.
- The candidate works alone. A recorded or written task is not a conversation, so you do not see how someone reacts when the other side changes course.
- Custom assessments take work. Building good ones for your role takes time.
What Greet does instead
The task talks back
Greet and Vervoe agree on the idea. Greet runs it live. The AI plays the customer who wants a refund outside policy, the patient who does not understand a bill, or the caller who interrupts. It reacts to each answer and asks follow-ups. For phone and customer-facing roles, that is closer to day one on the job than a task completed alone.
A session in minutes
Type “Screen support agents for a software company, 10 minutes, friendly tone” and AI fills in the instructions, questions and settings. Edit up to 10 questions or scenarios. Press Play to take it yourself before any candidate sees it.
Scoring you set and can check
You define assessment blocks: product knowledge, communication, English level, problem-solving. Greet scores from the dialogue, answers, audio or video. Each session returns a match rate, a written summary, the transcript and the recording (Pro and above). Block Copy & Paste and Camera Required are there when you need them.
A price on the page
Pro is $99 a month for 100 sessions. Enterprise is $200 a month for 500. A credit is used only when a session is completed. Share a link, or import a CSV and send unique links. Connect your ATS later if you want to.

Which one to pick
Pick Vervoe if you hire across many role types, including coding and written work, and want a library of job tasks with an enterprise contract.
Pick Greet if the job happens in conversation (support, sales, front desk, billing calls), and you want to watch candidates handle the situation live rather than describe it, at a price you can see today. The two can also run side by side: a Vervoe task for written skills, a Greet scenario for the call.
Try it on one role
- Pick a role where most of the work is talking to people.
- Write the situation your best person handles every day.
- Take the interview yourself with Play.
