Talentcube alternative: a standalone AI interview, now that it's Phenom
Talentcube built a mobile-first video recruiting tool in Munich. It is now owned by Phenom and sold as Phenom Video Assessments. Its roadmap follows Phenom’s, and pricing is not published.
If you liked Talentcube as a simple add-on to your ATS, that changes things. And the core work stays the same: candidates record video answers, and someone on your team has to watch them.
The short version
- Ownership: Talentcube is part of the Phenom suite. Greet is a standalone tool you can sign up for today.
- Review: Talentcube video answers need human review. Greet scores every session and gives you a summary.
- softgarden: Both work with softgarden. Greet’s integration is native.
What Talentcube is
Talentcube offers video applications, async video interviews and live interviewing, designed for mobile. It mainly serves German and European employers, and increasingly Phenom platform customers. It works with German ATSs such as softgarden.
It does that well. Video applications on a phone are quick for candidates, the German ATS integrations are real, and it is now backed by a large talent platform.
Where it falls short
From its own site and softgarden’s help pages:
- Now part of the Phenom suite. Its roadmap follows Phenom’s.
- Video answers still need human review. Recording is fast for the candidate; watching is slow for you.
- Pricing is not published.
What Greet does instead
Standalone, and it stays that way
Greet is one step in your process: the first-round interview. You don’t have to move platforms to use it. If you are on softgarden, Greet has a native integration. For Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, BambooHR, Workable, Teamtailor, Bullhorn and others, it connects via API. Or skip integration and share a link.
The candidate talks, the AI answers
A recorded video answer is a monologue. Greet is a conversation. The AI asks, listens and follows up when something is unclear. Candidates join from a phone or desktop browser at any time, and Greet can also call them by phone. Interviews run in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and Georgian.
You read results instead of watching videos
Every session returns a match rate against assessment blocks you define (for example knowledge, communication, German or English level, problem-solving), a written summary, the transcript and the recording (recording on Pro and above). Sort by score and open a recording only to check a result.
The interview tests the job
You can add up to 10 custom questions or scenarios. The AI can play a role: a customer with a complaint, a patient booking an appointment, a caller who wants to cancel. The candidate deals with it as they would at work.
Mobile still works
Candidates can do it on their phone, with the camera optional unless you turn on Camera Required. Push to Talk helps in a noisy room, and candidates can type if they need to.

Which one to pick
Pick Talentcube if you are moving to Phenom and want video assessments inside that platform.
Pick Greet if you want a first-round interview that does not depend on a suite, that talks back to candidates, and that hands you scores instead of a queue of videos.
Try it on one role
- Pick a role where you currently watch the most videos.
- Describe it in a sentence and let AI build the session.
- Press Play and take it yourself.
- Send the link to applicants, or connect softgarden, and read the scores.
Create your Greet account and compare it on that role.
