Sova alternative: a live scenario instead of a multiple-choice SJT
A situational judgement test describes a tricky moment at work and asks the candidate to choose the best response from a list. Sova builds these into blended assessments with cognitive and personality tests and video interviews.
Picking the right option is a useful signal. It is also not the same as saying it, in your own words, to an annoyed customer who keeps interrupting. For first-round screening on phone and support roles, that gap is the whole job.
The short version
- Scenario: Sova’s SJTs are multiple-choice. In Greet, the AI plays the person in the scenario and the candidate responds live.
- Setup: Sova is built for enterprise programmes. Greet takes minutes: describe the role and AI drafts the interview.
- Price: Sova’s pricing is not published. Greet is $99/month for 100 sessions.
What Sova is
Sova is a London talent assessment platform. It combines cognitive tests, personality questionnaires, situational judgement tests and video interviews into one blended assessment. Its customers are mainly enterprise and graduate recruitment teams.
It does that well. The assessments are science-backed, they can be configured for large graduate schemes, and Sova puts real weight on fairness reporting.
Where it falls short
From its own site:
- Enterprise implementation and pricing. Not something a small team switches on for one role.
- SJTs are multiple-choice. The candidate picks a response; they do not have to produce one.
- More than first-round screening needs. A full blended assessment is a lot of setup for a team that just wants to know who can handle the phone.
What Greet does instead
The situation happens, it is not described
Write the scenario the way you would brief an actor. “You are a customer whose second replacement order has not arrived. You are polite at first, then frustrated.” The AI plays it, reacts to what the candidate says, and follows up. There is no list of options to choose from, so there is no best-guess answer to pick.
One rubric, written by you
Define assessment blocks for what matters: knowledge, communication, English level, problem-solving, or “does not promise what policy cannot deliver”. Greet scores each one from the dialogue, the answers, and the audio or video. Every candidate faces the same scenario and the same rubric.
Minutes, not an implementation project
Type something like “Screen support agents for evening shifts, 10 minutes, friendly tone” and AI fills in the instructions, questions and settings. Press Play to take it yourself, adjust, then share a link or import a CSV of candidates. Connecting an ATS is optional.
Evidence you can play back
Each session returns a match rate, a written summary, the transcript and the recording. When a hiring manager asks why someone was rejected, you can play the exact moment.
Practice after the hire
The same scenarios run as role-play training. New hires can practise the difficult calls before they take real ones, and their progress shows in the same dashboard.

Which one to pick
Pick Sova if you run large, structured assessment programmes such as graduate schemes and want cognitive, personality and SJT results from one vendor.
Pick Greet if you need a first round for phone, support, billing or front desk roles, and you want to hear how candidates handle the situation, not which option they tick.
Try it on one role
- Take one of your SJT items and rewrite it as a scenario the AI can play.
- Add a scoring block for the behaviour that item was meant to catch.
- Press Play and take it yourself.
- Send the link to this week’s applicants and read the scores.
Create your Greet account and run it on one role.
