PreviewMe alternative: a conversation instead of a camera recording

11/3/2026 • 4 min read

PreviewMe is one of the few video screening tools that publishes its prices. Starter is $1,500 every six months, or $2,700 a year paid annually, and Growth is $4,800 a year (USD).

The format is one-way video. Candidates film structured answers to a camera, and PreviewMe’s AI analyses the video, CV and documents to rank fit. For frontline and remote roles, filming yourself is often the step where people drop out.

The short version

  • Format: PreviewMe candidates record video answers. Greet candidates talk with an AI that listens and asks follow-ups. The camera is optional.
  • What gets judged: PreviewMe’s AI reads communication style from video. Greet scores the answers and the scenario on blocks you define.
  • Price: both publish prices. PreviewMe starts at $1,500 per six months. Greet is $99 a month for 100 sessions, billed monthly.

What PreviewMe is

PreviewMe, with offices in Auckland and London, is AI video screening software for in-house talent teams. Candidates submit structured video answers, and its AI analyses video, CVs and documents to rank them against the role. It has a long history with high-volume employers in New Zealand.

It does that well. Prices are published, it has experience with large New Zealand employers, and it ranks candidates using several inputs rather than one.

Where it falls short

From its own pricing and about pages:

  • A camera is required. Video submissions mean a camera, decent light and a quiet room.
  • Video can reward presentation. Analysing communication style from video can reflect how someone presents more than what they can do.
  • No one answers back. Candidates record to fixed questions, with no follow-up when an answer is thin.

What Greet does instead

Candidates have a conversation

Greet is a two-way voice interview in the browser, on desktop or phone. The AI speaks, listens and asks a follow-up when it needs more. Greet can also call applicants by phone. Leave the camera off, or turn on Camera Required when you need it.

They do the job, not describe it

Write up to 10 questions or scenarios. The AI can play a customer chasing a refund, a patient worried about a bill, or a caller who is already upset. Every candidate gets the same situation. You see who can handle it.

Scores tied to what was said

You define the assessment blocks: knowledge, communication, English level, problem-solving. Each session returns a match rate, a written summary, the transcript and the recording (Pro and above). When you want to check a score, play back the exact moment.

Monthly, not six months up front

Pro is $99 a month for 100 sessions; Enterprise is $200 a month for 500. A credit is used only when a session is completed. For seasonal hiring, you pay in the months you hire.

Setup in minutes

Describe the role and AI drafts the instructions, questions and settings. Press Play to take it yourself. Then share the link, import a CSV, or embed a voice application form on your careers page with one script tag.

Which one to pick

Pick PreviewMe if you are an in-house team in New Zealand or Australia that wants async video plus CV and document analysis from a vendor with local experience.

Pick Greet if you hire for phone, support, front desk or remote roles, you do not want candidates to drop out over a camera, and you would rather pay month to month.

Try it on one role

  1. Pick the role with the lowest video completion rate.
  2. Write the situation your best person handles every day.
  3. Take the interview yourself with Play, camera off.
  4. Send the link and compare completions.
