Hireflix alternative: a scored conversation, not a pile of videos

11/3/2026 • 4 min read

Hireflix is one of the cheapest ways to run video interviews. Plans start at $75 a month billed yearly, the price is on the site, and candidates do not need to download anything.

The catch shows up on Monday morning. Every applicant has recorded a few answers, and every answer is a video someone on your team has to sit through. Forty applicants means forty playlists.

The short version

  • Format: Hireflix candidates record answers to fixed questions. Greet candidates talk to an AI that listens and asks a follow-up when an answer is thin.
  • Review: With Hireflix your team watches. With Greet each candidate arrives with a score, a summary and a transcript.
  • Price: Hireflix is cheaper on paper ($75/month billed yearly). Greet is $99/month for 100 completed sessions.

What Hireflix is

Hireflix is a one-way video interview tool based in Barcelona. You set the questions, candidates record their answers in the browser, and your team reviews the recordings. It is popular with small businesses, universities and recruiting agencies.

It does the simple thing well. Pricing is public, there is a free trial, and candidates find it easy to use.

Where it falls short

From its own site and public reviews:

  • No follow-up questions. G2 reviewers note it is recorded answers, not a conversation. A vague answer stays vague.
  • Review fatigue. Reviewers mention how tiring it gets to watch many videos in a row.
  • Little automated scoring. Compared with AI interviewers, most of the judging is still done by people.

What Greet does instead

The first round runs without you

Greet holds the whole conversation. The AI asks your questions, listens, and digs in when someone answers “I’d just handle it.” When the session ends, you get a match rate against your criteria and a written summary. You open the recording only when you want to check something.

Candidates do the job, not describe it

A recorded answer to “How do you deal with an angry customer?” mostly measures how well someone talks about work. In Greet, the AI plays the angry customer. For a billing role it can be a patient disputing a balance. For a front desk role, a caller who wants a same-day slot that does not exist. Up to 10 questions or scenarios per session, the same for every candidate.

You decide what counts

Scoring is built from assessment blocks you write: knowledge, communication, English level, problem-solving, or anything specific to the role. Greet scores them from the dialogue, the answers, and the audio or video. Turn on Camera Required or Block Copy & Paste if you worry about candidates reading from a second screen.

It handles real volume

Share one link in your job ad, or import a CSV and send unique links. One remote medical billing opening screened with Greet drew 1,220 applicants. That is a stack of videos nobody watches carefully. With Greet it is a sorted list. Export it as CSV or PDF.

Which one to pick

Pick Hireflix if you want the lowest-cost way to collect video answers, your volume is small, and you prefer to judge every candidate by watching them yourself.

Pick Greet if your roles live on the phone or with customers, you get more applicants than you can watch, and you want the first round scored before you open your laptop.

Try it on one role

  1. Choose the opening where the video queue is longest.
  2. Describe the role in one line and let AI draft the questions and scoring.
  3. Press Play and take the interview yourself.
  4. Swap the Hireflix link for the Greet link on this week’s applicants and compare.

Create your Greet account and run it on one role.
