Goshaba alternative: test the real task, not a cognitive game

11/3/2026 • 4 min read

Goshaba turns assessment into short games. Candidates play, and you get a read on their soft skills and cognitive abilities without leaning on a CV. Candidates tend to enjoy it.

The catch is the gap between the game and the job. A good score on a memory or attention game tells you something about the brain. It does not tell you whether this person can calm down a customer whose order is three days late.

The short version

  • What it tests: Goshaba measures abilities through games. Greet puts candidates in a task from the job.
  • Reading results: Goshaba results need interpretation by your team. Greet returns a score on criteria you chose, with a written summary.
  • Price: Goshaba pricing is not published. Greet is $99/month for 100 sessions.

What Goshaba is

Goshaba is a French company offering gamified cognitive assessments. Short games measure soft skills and cognitive abilities. It mostly serves French and European employers, especially for early-careers and volume roles.

It does that well. The experience is engaging and game-like, it measures ability without relying on CVs, and it works for candidates without formal experience.

Where it falls short

From its own site:

  • Games measure ability indirectly. They do not test job tasks.
  • Results need interpretation. Your team has to translate a cognitive profile into a hiring decision.
  • Pricing is not published.

What Greet does instead

The test is the task

You describe a situation the person will face in the first week. The AI plays the other side of it: a customer, a patient, a caller who is already annoyed. The candidate talks it through out loud and the AI responds, pushes back and asks follow-ups. What you see is a small, real sample of the work.

It still works for people without a CV

Like a game, a scenario does not care where someone studied. A school leaver who handles the call well scores well. That keeps the fair part of game-based testing and adds a direct link to the job.

You decide what the score means

You set the assessment blocks (communication, product knowledge, English level, problem-solving, anything you name). Each session returns a match rate, a written summary, the transcript and the recording (recording on Pro and above). There is no profile to decode. If you want to know why someone scored 62, read the transcript.

Ready in minutes

Describe the role in one line, such as “Screen retail associates for weekend shifts, 5 minutes, friendly tone”, and AI drafts the instructions, questions and settings. Press Play to take it yourself. Share one link, or import a CSV and send each applicant a unique link. Candidates can join from a phone, and Push to Talk helps in a noisy room.

Use it alongside games if you want

If you like what a cognitive game shows you, keep it. Greet can sit after it as the step that checks the actual job, and results export as CSV or PDF.

Which one to pick

Pick Goshaba if you hire large early-careers cohorts and want a playful, CV-free measure of cognitive ability and soft skills.

Pick Greet if the job is mostly talking to people and you want to see each candidate handle a real situation from it before anyone spends time on a call.

Try it on one role

  1. Pick a role where people quit or struggle in the first month.
  2. Write the moment that trips them up.
  3. Take the interview yourself with Play.
  4. Send it to this week’s applicants and read the summaries.

Create your Greet account and try it on that role.
